Work with Lucy Macdonald in the Lighthouse Gallery, Glasgow for a 5-hour weaving workshop inspired by the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh!

In small groups you’ll learn a little theory on weaving techniques and structures, design a weft based colour pattern, then work on a pre-setup 4 shaft table loom to bring your bespoke Mini Cowl Scarf design to life! Towards the end of the workshop, you will have a chance to sew up your handwoven fabric into a Mini Cowl and take it home with detailed wash and care instructions.

We’ll be working with a beautiful merino wool/cotton yarn warp, set up and ready to weave, in heathery shades inspired by the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. There will be plenty of co-ordinating weft yarns to choose from but you’re also more than welcome to bring along any yarn you’ve been saving for a special occasion for some added weft detail. No experience necessary, this workshop is perfect for beginners, textile enthusiasts and craft lovers wanting to learn a new skill.

All materials and equipment are provided and at the end of the workshop, you will be able to take your completed Mini Cowl home along with weaving notes and care instructions in case you would like to continue weaving in the future. 10.30am – 3.30pm (5 hours)

Maximum of 4 per workshop.

The cafe at The Lighthouse will be open to buy lunch on the day but you are more than welcome to bring lunch along if you prefer. There will be tea, coffee and biscuits provided for breaks throughout the workshop. All materials and equipment will be provided. A postcard with dates, times and information about your chosen workshop will be sent out on completion of your order, the perfect gift!
