“I was interested by the moving lights in Tokyo and how the moon seemed obsolete in a 24hr buzzing city. In traditional Japanese Ukiyo-e paintings, the moon was illustrated as powerful and magical, so I wanted to create designs which encapsulated both Japanese tradition and modernity. My designs have captured a similar aesthetic and style to the works of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.”
