Ruth’s work is inspired by the simple, linear details in urban architecture- particularly in Glasgow- and the distorted reflections mirrored in the surfaces of cities.
“For this project, I have focused on some of these elements which are also present in Mackintosh’s work. In particular, the structures and spaces of his Art School, with minimal forms and intricate shadows central to my exploration.”
“As Mackintosh often did, I strive to use simple, linear forms to frame and capture the fleeting, intangible moments within a city through the use of reflective surfaces, combining precious metals and resin to create mirror-like surfaces.”
